Join Michelle for the “Stars for a New Day” 2024 Block-of-the-Month program. It all starts with a Feathered Star block set on-point and each month the project grows by adding pieced and plain borders. This is a popular block-of-the-month; the pattern instructions are very detailed and offer lots of options for simplifying steps. The finished quilt measures 85 inches square.
Michelle will also walk you through the process each month offering tips, tricks and varying piecing techniques to make assembling this gorgeous quilt easier and so much more enjoyable. The program will be 12 sessions over 10 months, with August and September being double sessions and all of October as a catch-up month to get on track for the finishing of the quilt top in December.
A great project to use from your stash as well as honing your piecing skills. Choose your own colourway; scrappy, two-toned, monochromatic, vintage, modern… whatever you decide will yield fabulous results.
Classes in store will meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month with Michelle, with the first class starting 27th February, 2024. Students can opt to attend in person or, alternatively, this can be done remotely with the help of the private online Facebook group that will be set up specifically for this project.
The “Stars for a New Day” program comes with 12 individual pattern packs with detailed assembly instructions, cutting lists and foundation patterns and a pack of foundation piecing paper. The cost of class fees is for ten 3-hour classes ($25 p/class), with an extra two sessions included for free in the months of August and September. Students will also receive a 10% discount on any fabrics purchased for this project.

To secure your place payment must be made in full. Your place is not secured until payment has been received. You can book either online, over the phone or in person with cash or credit card. Refunds will not be issued should you cancel or not attend the workshop or class. A store credit MAY be issued if we can fill your place. Handcrafters House does not accept responsibility for changes in the personal circumstances of its students. Mobile phones are allowed in the classroom but only when turned to silent or vibrate.
